GAUGE: 11 stitches + 14 rows = 4" (10 cm) in stockinette stitch (knit 1 row, purl 1 row) using size 13 (9 mm) knitting needles. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE.

11 stitches + 14 rows = 4" (10 cm) in stockinette stitch (knit 1 row, purl 1 row) using size 13 (9 mm) knitting needles.
BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. ScarfMake a slip knot – first stitch on needle. Cast on 17 stitches – total of 18 stitches. Knit 6 rows (= 3 garter stitch ridges). Work in stockinette stitch for 6 rows. Repeat last 12 rows until piece measures 38 inches or all yarn except 24 inches is used. Loosely bind off all stitches. Fold scarf, giving one end a 180 degree turn. Join short ends. Weave in ends.
